Join us as our incredible talents join forces to present an extraordinary performance of chamber music works! 

The program will include Debussy's colorful and intimate sonata for violin and piano, Dohnányi's  enchanting Serenade for String Trio, Op. 10, and Franck's epic Piano Quintet in F minor! 

Experience this spectacular finale of our Season 3 with our Artistic Advisor and Yale School of Music faculty Ani Kavafian, violinist Ariel Horowitz, violist Jordan Bak, cellist Julian Schwarz, and pianist/Kallos Artistic Director Min Young Kang!

Violinist Ani Kavafian enjoys a prolific career as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. She has performed with virtually all of America’s leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and many others. She is a renowned chamber musician, and has performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center since 1979. Her numerous solo recital engagements include performances at New York’s Carnegie and Alice Tully halls, as well as in major venues across the country.

Hailed by The Washington Post as “Sweetly Lyrical,” Ariel Horowitz cannot remember life before loving music. Prizewinner of the Stulberg, Klein, Menuhin and Grumiaux International Competitions as well as the Juilliard Concerto Competition and the Yale Concerto and Chamber Music competitions, Ariel also received the Salon De Virtuosi Career Grant in 2017 and the 2019 Broadus Erle Award in Violin from the Yale School of Music.

“A star in the making,” (Seattle Pi) Jamaican-American violist Jordan Bak is an outstanding artist of passion, energy, and authenticity in the recital and chamber music arenas. A Sphinx MPower Artist Grant Recipient and a top laureate of the 2020 Sphinx Competition, Bak is also a winner and Audience Prize recipient of the 2019 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, the recipient of the 2019 Samuel Sanders Tel Aviv Museum Prize and the 2019 John White Special Prize from the Tertis International Viola Competition.

Julian Schwarz, cello (https://www.julianschwarz.com/about)

Julian Schwarz was born to a multigenerational musical family in 1991. Heralded from a young age as a cellist destined to rank among the greatest of the 21st century, Julian’s powerful tone, effortless virtuosity, and extraordinarily large color palette are hallmarks of his style. Internationally, he made his Australian debut with the Queensland Symphony, his Mexican debuts with the Boca del Rio Philharmonic in Veracruz and the Mexico City Philharmonic with frequent collaborator Jorge Mester, and his Hong Kong debut at the Intimacy of Creativity Festival. He has also appeared at the Salzburg Mozarteum, and the Verbier festival in Switzerland.

A prize winner at the J.C. Arriaga Chamber Music Competition, Artur Balsam Duo Competition, pianist Min Young Kang has been recognized with numerous awards and scholarships, including the Talisman Energy Emerging Artist Award, Kraeuter Musical Foundation Award, Prix special du Directeur and Prix de Musique de chambre from Ecoles D’Art Americaines de Fontainebleau.

We are also committed to giving back to our community this season in this difficult times.
