Founded in January 2019, Kallos Chamber Music Series's mission is to cultivate a thriving community around a vibrant, intimate, and profound chamber music experience. Hailed "resonant with the time, and offering understanding, catharsis, and consolation" by New Haven Independent, KCMS is a destination for captivating programs, extraordinary music, and wonderful moments with friends and family.
It enriches the lives of its audiences through eclectic musical performances of the highest quality. Specializing in live performances, KCMS hosts remarkable young professional musicians from all of the world in our artists-in-residence venue,
the historic New Haven Lawn Club.
The word ‘Kallos’ originated from the Ancient Greek word ‘kállos’, which means 'beauty', 'nobility', and 'a beautiful thing.' This 'beauty' comes from the Greek philosophy concept of the creation of beauty in all aspects of life on the part of a person observing and enjoying existing harmony and beauty. Kallos Chamber Music Series took the name from this word as chamber music is shared experiences of beauty for both artists and audiences.

Min young kang
Korean-born pianist and artistic curator Dr. Min Young Kang has earned acclaim for both her captivating stage presence and innovative concert experiences alike. Dubbed “an absolute gem” by the Montecito Journal, her performances span the United States, France, and South Korea, gracing renowned venues such as Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Château de Fontainebleau, and the Sejong Center M Theater. She has shared the stage with many of today’s leading artists, including Ani Kavafian, Robert Langevin, members of the New York Philharmonic, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. As a curator, she serves as the Founder and Artistic Director of the Kallos Chamber Music Series in New Haven, CT, which celebrates its nineth year during its 2026-2027 season. She currently serves as Lecturer in Collaborative Piano at the Yale School of Music.
