About the event
Music à la Carte 1 : Momentous Brilliance
November 2-23
Every Monday at 7:30PM
We are Reinventing Your Concert Experience in this Era of Covid-19.
'Music à la Carte' means 'Music on the Menu'.
'Music à la Carte' is a concert series reimagined in the era of coronavirus.
This online concert series will live-stream 4 weekly short live performances via our Youtube/Facebook on Mondays at 7:30pm. Each concert will last 15-20 minutes.
With a program entitled 'Momentous Brilliance', the concert will present the pieces by
Haydn, Pierné, Gaubert, and Martinů through these four weeks.
Reconnect yourself with beauty. Get inspired. Experience the brilliance, emotions, and vitality of great chamber music.
We start out with Haydn's exuberant flute trio in D major and finish with Martinu's Trio for flute, cello, and piano, a very energizing and vigorous work that displays an underlying optimism.
In between, you are going to enjoy two very different works written by French composer Gabriel Pierné, and Philippe Gaubert. Pierné's Sonata da Camera reminisces about the music in the Baroque period while Gaubert's impressionistic Trois Aquarelles is dashing and exotic.
Nov 2nd : Joseph Haydn: Trio No. 28 in D major, Hob. XV:16
Nov 9th: Gabriel Pierné: Sonata da Camera
Nov 16th: Bohuslav Martinů : Trio for flute, cello and piano
Nov 23th: Philippe Gaubert: Trois Aquarelles (Three Watercolors) 1. Par un clair matin (On a clear morning)
2. Soleil, d'automne (Autumn sun) 3. Serenade
